Ontario
The final game against the pick of the state teams. An eventful day as the coach had gone to another Marriott Hotel and the Subway was our only means of getting to the ground. The game was an hour late and at the kick off the Penryn squad were at the receiving end of some unfortunate penalty decisions, however the Ontario squad took the advantage and played extremely good rugby with strong running and took an early lead.
The second half saw Penryn play with a very different attitude, tempers had calmed and focus was on playing rugby. The boys played excellent rugby and started putting the pressure back on Ontario who were desperately defending against a dominant team. The whistle went a few minutes early by my counting as Penryn needed one more try to take the lead.
After match songs and the Ontario hosts were very generous and complimentary about Penryns performance and a very well fought game.
